Studies show that getting out in nature helps relieve stress, as long as you feel safe. You know, no predators, extreme weather, mosquitoes, etc. It has great benefits for physical and mental health, decreasing nervous system stress, blood pressure, feelings of isolation, and increasing immune system function, self-esteem, and speed of healing.
The good news for those of us in climates that are less hospitable for parts of the year, is that the exposure to nature doesn’t have to be real for there to be benefits. This study shows that just five minutes of viewing images of nature can give noticeable health benefits.
